Elizabeth Jordan, Principal of Timmerman School
Principal's Welcome

A school-family on the road to success

More than 72 years ago, my mother founded Timmerman School. All these years later, I am so proud to be the head of this wonderful academic program. I, along with our dedicated faculty and staff, look forward to working with you as a partner in your child's education and progress from one grade to the next.

As Principal of this Columbia, SC, private school, it is essential to me that every parent, student, and teacher who steps through our doors is enthusiastic and happy to be here.

This positive attitude helps students meet high academic and athletic expectations in a school where they are known and supported. I welcome calls and emails from students, parents, and teachers who want to discuss a concern during the school year. My door is open, and I welcome your input.

I look forward to working together as a school-family to help each student at Timmerman School meet their goals and have a wonderful school year!

Academic Excellence

SCISA Master Teachers & STEAM Accreditation

Tanya Allen and Allison Clark became SCISA Master Teachers in 2023. The South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) Master Teacher Program, established in 2005, recognizes exceptional educators in member independent schools who demonstrate outstanding classroom best practices and a commitment to collaborating and sharing experiences with fellow teachers.

In addition, Timmerman School is proud to be a SCISA STEAM Accredited school. Tanya Allen, Tabitha Burch, and Allison Clark led the thorough process to earn Timmerman's STEAM accreditation in 2018, connecting rigorous academics with problem-solving engineering, coding, 3D printing, and creative inquiry across every grade level.
